The governors of Louisiana, Texas, Alabama, and Mississippi have declared a state of emergency for each of their states. The FMCSA has suspended the hours of service regulations for carriers and drivers who are providing hurricane relief to these areas. Any carrier or driver providing emergency relief to, from, or within the areas where these state of emergencies have been declared are temporarily exempt from sections 390-399 of FMCSA regulations.
