Burlington, N.J. --  Arsenault Associates has released Dossier Version 4.6, the latest, feature-rich edition of the industry's leading maintenance management software.

The new version of Dossier includes hundreds of software upgrades and enhancements as well as 3 innovative new modules. One of these modules is the much-anticipated Dossier Tire Management System -- a comprehensive, money-saving program option for managing tire assets. For most commercial fleets, tires constitute the third largest cost factor after labor and fuel. (Three major tire makers have announced that already high prices for commercial tires will rise by as much as 10% on September 1.)

No keyboard data entry is necessary after initial setup. The tire module gathers readings via the Dossier Tire Probe, a new automated technology that quickly and easily measures tire air pressure and tread depth. The information is sent via bluetooth wireless to Pocket Dossier (on a handheld PDA), which then updates the Dossier fleet maintenance software via high-speed wireless in real time. The Dossier Tire Management System helps fleets increase fuel mpg and lower their tire costs and downtime by maintaining proper air pressures and minimum tread depths. This also ensures timely recaps and clearly identifies problem tires, as well as which tire brands and models are best suited to a particular fleet.

"The Dossier Tire Management System within Dossier Version 4.6 is a major step forward for our customers and for the industry which has talked about tire management for years but has accomplished little," said Charles Arsenault, CEO. "Some new tire technologies have been introduced, but Dossier Tire Management is the first practical and affordable system. It takes a holistic approach to tire management and provides significant, measurable returns for a reasonable investment in time and effort.

" Also new with Dossier 4.6 are Dossier On-Board and External Work Management, both optional modules.

Dossier Onboard is an integrated GPS and telematics solution in cooperation with Arsenault's partner Networkcar. It delivers vehicle data, fault codes and driver performance reports to the Fleet Manager wirelessly in real time as the vehicle is on the road. Key maintenance data such as fault codes and current mile and hour meter readings are automatically imported into Dossier, which can then flag evolving problems before they become critical, and automatically update PM schedules. Dossier Onboard offers the tools fleets need to tightly manage fuel use.

The External Work Management module does what the name implies: it enables efficient oversight and control of service and repairs performed by outside vendors and allows for importing repair orders and invoice documents, eliminating data entry and the potential for errors.

Beyond the new modules, Dossier 4.6 has been enhanced to function smoothly with other business software, providing seamless throughput to accounting programs, for example, and allowing additional user-defined accounting and corporate codes. VMRS, the industry-standard Vehicle Maintenance Reporting System, has been updated with 6,000 new codes and four new systems. Many other enhancements have been made to Dossier functions and reports.

"We listen carefully to our customers and to the Dossier Users Group. They drive the ideas that keep Dossier at the head of the pack. It's all about making fleet maintenance easier, more efficient and adding to the bottom line," said Bob Hausler, vice president, marketing and technology.
